Monologue

It's been hours now since you left, and I still can't stop thinking about you. About us. Somehow I can't believe you've gone- you'd threatened it before, certainly, but you were just never able to go through with it. I'd tease you and say, "your sweetness is your weakness, darling", and you'd laugh. Then things would go back to the way they were before.

Will it ever be the same again?

I never meant to hurt you. I really didn't. You knew that I would save you all my kisses, but it seems that that just wasn't enought to placate you. And yet, you never told me you were hurting. Why? Did you just decide you'd turn around and count to ten, then force that beautifully concealing smile upon your face? That irrisistable mask you've worn for so long?

I know that all the flowers in the world couldn't make you forgive me, but it won't stop me from tying. When you left I realized I'd gotten myself in too deep, and that I'd do anything to have you by my side once more, where you belong.

And yet you're not here. It's dead silent but at the same time not- I feel as if there's something in my house with me. Maybe it's loneliness. Maybe it's fear. Maybe it's both. Are you at this very moment finding a brand new lover, one whom you deem to make up for everything that I lacked? I suppose I'd deserve it. But if only you'd told me you were hurting!

Please lover, come back to me. Ever moment that passes without you here with me and my heart goes bang in my chest. I don't mean to grovel but- actually yes, yes I do. Anything it takes because you've got me hooked on love- and yours is the only one that I need.

Oh little rebel, rebel that you are, I'm going to do whatever it takes to make you mine again. We were meant to be together, and that's the way I like it to be, as I know deep down you do as well. And though you may try to force yourself to believe that I'm just some hit and run lover who abandoned you, darling I'm going to prove you wrong. I'm going to make you wish you'd never left my warm embrace.

This very night I'm going to take leave and find you. I'll lay down this pen and make you come home with me baby, and show you the meaning of the term "sex drive", which you so bitterly accused me of having an excess of. When I've finished with you this evening, you'll understand what I mean when I say you spin me round like a record.

I refuse to stand by and let you make the biggest mistake of both of our lives'. I love you, and I'm going to prove it to us both.

Watch out, here I come.
